Group 1st - 8th place
The best team from each preliminary group + 2 best teams from 2nd places go to the quarterfinal.
Group 9th - 16th place
The rest of the teams at 2nd places + 4 best teams from 3rd places, QF - SF - F.
Group 17th - 24th place
The rest of the teams at 3rd places and teams at 4th places, QF - SF - F.

If, after completion of the group matches, two or more teams have gained the same number of points, the following ranking system will apply:
a) period difference is subtracted in all matches.
b) greater number of plus periods in all matches.
c) greater number of plus goal points in all matches
d) draw.

Six matches are guaranteed for each team!

MEN´s tournament
Six preliminary groups with four teams. Best two teams go to the 1/8 F. Teams from 3^rd place after the preliminary groups play in group for 17^h – 24^th place. Teams from 4^th place after the preliminary groups play in group for 25^th – 32^th place.
Seven matches guarantee for teams in quarterfinals, others play six matches.
